The PEC Corps program proudly supported the Girls on the Run of Montgomery County 5K Race in Maryland, a bi-annual event celebrating the achievements of young girls throughout the season. With over 5,000 runners and 1,200 volunteers, the race brought the community together for an inspiring day.
Girls on the Run equips young girls with essential life skills, empowering them to overcome the unique challenges women face in school, the workplace, and beyond due to ongoing gender inequality. This organization is committed to preparing girls from all backgrounds to face these obstacles with confidence and resilience as they grow.
As the organization puts it, “This closing event gives program participants of all abilities a tangible sense of accomplishment. Crossing the finish line instills confidence through completion and is a joyful moment participants will always remember.”
